Mario Kart Wii - Japanese Kiosk Demo Build Showcase (体験版)

Описание: On late August 2025, a japanese Kiosk Demo for Mario Kart Wii was recovered from slack data from a WIS-009 hard drive dump, along other Wii kiosk demos.
This video shows gameplay of this build in Dolphin Emulator (the lag is caused due to my PC being slow when recording the screen).

The game requires a second Wii remote to be connected (otherwise the game won't go past the very first screen). This second remote is the intended controller to play this demo, hence the restriction.
New screens are present that tell the player how to use the Wii Wheel as well as basic controls (these screens are meant to be displayed in 16:9 aspect ratio).

After this, we can acess the title screen, which has a brand new icon with the word 体験版 (meaning "Demo" or "Trial"). Backing out from the title screen returns us to the control explanation screen again.
This version is not meant to save its data, so there is no license selection screen. Only the Single player menu button is available, and the other ones have been grayed out and can't be selected.
Likewise, in the single player menu, only the Grand Prix option is available, with nothing unlocked. The other options are locked.

The gameplay appears to be identical to the retail build, so I didn't really showed it on this video. At the moment, analysis in the code hasn't found any difference in the gameplay / physics / items / etc side of things.
However, the demo runs on a timer, and after 10 minutes (or 2 minutes if nothing is pressed in the controller), the game will go to a "Thank you for playing!" screen, as seen at 1:56, and after a few seconds will return back to the Home Menu.

Unfortunately no symbol maps nor any other interesting debugging leftovers are present. Build dates are not present either. However, it's likely this is a post-release build.
