AAVE just killed Decentralization

A huge governance fight just played out between Aave Labs and the Aave DAO, and it exposes the core problem with “decentralized” governance. The DAO tried to inherit the key IP and storefront assets (Aave.com, the app, and the front end), but the initiative failed. Stani Kulechov, founder of Aave and head of Labs, held about 33 percent of the vote and effectively outweighed the community. The result is simple: the founder keeps control, Labs can route storefront swap fees to whatever wallet they choose, and token holders have no enforceable rights to value accrual. If this can happen here, it can happen anywhere.
