💁🏻 Abel: The Worship That God Accepts
Abel was the second son of Adam and Eve. He was a shepherd who brought an offering to God from the best of his flock. God accepted Abel and his offering, not because Abel was perfect, but because Abel trusted God. The Bible tells us that Abel offered his sacrifice by faith. Even though Abel was killed by his brother Cain, God did not forget him. Abel’s blood cried out to God for justice. His life and death point us forward to Jesus, whose blood speaks a better word—not judgment, but forgiveness and peace.
📖 Bible Readings:
Genesis 4:3–10
Hebrews 11:4
1 John 3:12
Hebrews 12:24
Romans 10:17
Ephesians 2:8–9
👨🏻💻 Teachings:
The worship that pleases God:
1. Worship must be offered by faith in God.
2. Worship must come from the heart.
3. Worship must be the best offering.
💪🏼 Applications:
1. Give your best effort to God.
2. Give your offering from the heart.
3. Give with a conviction that God is worth it.
🎙 Discussion:
Why does God care more about the heart than about what we give Him?
Alternative questions:
1. What have you learned from this devotion?
2. How can you practically apply our devotion?
🙏🏼 Prayer:
Lord God, thank You for reminding me that the worship that pleases You is rooted in faith, not mere performance. Forgive me when I give without fully trusting You or when my heart is divided. Teach me to worship You sincerely, offering my whole heart and my very best. Help me give with joy, excellence, and conviction, knowing that You are truly worthy of all I am and all I have. Shape my worship so it reflects deep faith, genuine love, and wholehearted devotion. May my life continually honor You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
