Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) work together to help keep the vehicle in its lane. Lane Keeping Assist System helps you steer more precisely, helping keep the vehicle more centered in its lane, so you can feel more in control, especially on narrow roadways. Lane Departure Warning (LDW) can help reduce the stress of driving on the open road and provide an increased level of active safety by alerting you if the vehicle is leaving a lane without a turn signal activated.
If the vehicle begins moving out of its detected lane and the turn signals aren’t activated, alert beeps sound and the Lane Departure Warning appears on the Virtual Cockpit™ Digital Instrument Cluster, prompting the driver to steer back into the detected lane. Acura models with the Lane Keeping Assist System will automatically apply corrective steering to center you in the detected lane. There’s a host of driver assistance and safety technologies included with every Acura vehicle.
Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) only assists driver in maintaining proper lane position when lane markings are identified without a turn signal in use and can only apply mild steering torque to assist. LKAS may not detect all lane markings; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed, and road conditions. System operation affected by high interior heat. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
