• Protection under the Forest Rights Act, 2006 – safeguarding tribal land rights and preventing eviction until claims are settled by the District Level Committee (DLC).
• Judgment of the Gauhati High Court (State of Mizoram vs. Darkunga & Ors.) – recognizing the rights of tribal landholders, including those in forest areas.
• Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (Sections 41 & 42) – ensuring fair compensation and special provisions for Scheduled Tribes in case of land acquisition.
