Mario Kart is one of the most popular video game series due to the games’ design focusing on fun and accessibility. Because of this, the series has universal praise and created quite a large fanbase. So what happens when this beloved franchise releases a title in the mobile game industry that includes common mobile game features that are frowned upon? Yeah, people aren’t going to be happy. Although many fans abandoned this game pretty quickly, there’s more to Mario Kart Tour’s story. Throughout the game’s life span, there were new features and events that ranged to underrated moments that deserve praise, to appalling moments that only diminish the game’s public image further.

In this series of videos, I aim to cover Mario Kart Tour in full to give it a complete and brutally honest review to decide whether the game in its entirety is good. In this video, we review major events in the game’s first two years of service. This includes short-lived improvements, new game modes, showcases of the game’s creative potential at its best and worst, and the overdue debut of a certain character. As well as taking a look at the needlessly complicated strategies of this should-be-simplified mobile game.
