The Vector is getting an open comb baseplate option on October 11, 2020. The Vector retails for USD $195 and up, based on the finish you choose; machined or polished and it is 100% U.S. made (including packaging).

It is well known that The Vector is my absolute favorite bladed razor. The weight and maneuverability are second to none. The razor is well balanced and is fully machined from 303 Stainless Steel, with extremely tight tolerances. The handle was designed specifically to compliment the delicate head design. The razor weighs in at 77g and is 92mm tall. The open comb baseplate offers the same efficiency of the safety bar and a similar amount of blade feel. The combs are well machined and although you feel them on the skin, they are not sharp and do not cause “comb distraction” that is sometimes prevalent in open comb razors. The open comb set up maintains the same medium-aggressive shave feel as the safety bar version.

In terms of the shave, the angle of attack is intuitive and much like many DE razors. This familiarity allows for little learning curve and the ability to shave without fear of irritation or unsafe movements. The razor is well balanced and extremely nimble. Even with the wider head due to the blade type, the razor is easy to use and reaches all trouble spots including the moustache area closest to the nostrils. Because of the open comb design lather is not entirely captured in the razor, leaving the slickness and glide behind. This is an extremely comfortable open comb razor, and one that I prefer to use. I consider the Vector, in this format, to be an ideal daily driver for face or dome shavers that enjoy high efficiency and medium-aggressive feel.

For Vector enthusiasts, this is a must have razor or addition to your current Vector set up. The look and feel of this razor is premium, like its price tag. It delivers performance that is simply not matched by anything in the AC razor space.
