Описание: Prenzlauer Berg is a locality of Berlin (Germany), forming the southerly and most urban district of the borough of Pankow. From its founding in 1920 until 2001, Prenzlauer Berg was a district of Berlin in its own right. Here I am taking a walk in the rain at the Oderberger Straße, which is best known for the location of numerous cafés, restaurants and boutiques, as well as for the nearby Mauerpark. We will be walking to the Kulturbrauerei, a 25,000 m² building ensemble, and the former brewery in the Kollwitzkiez (Pankow district). With its courtyards and unique architecture, Kulturbrauerei has been a national monument since 1974. It is one of the few well-preserved monuments of industrial architecture in Berlin from the end of the 19th century. Today, it is run commercially as a cultural center and houses cinemas, theaters, discotheques and event spaces, among other things. The Oderberger Strasse in the beginning is home, among other things, to a municipal swimming pool (1899-1902), built according to plans by Ludwig Hoffmann, and the Prenzlauer Berg fire station, the oldest station of Germany's professional fire department still in operation.
