It's a city from people and they make film so to be with a little documentary I was in my little shoes, but after when I saw the film I said I can also be with my film at the big festival and I am very honored to be at La Fenice tonight."

VALENTINO IN VENICE
Italy's top fashion designer Valentino Garvani, who retired last summer after a forty-five year career in fashion - dressing the world's most glamorous and beautiful women was feted Thursday ( August 28th ) at an off site gala premiere held at Venice's jewel-box La Fenice theatre before moving on to a late night party at the Peggy Guggenheim museum.
The gala premiere was held after a film documentary called 'Valentino: The Last Emperor,' made by Vanity Fair special correspondent Matt Tyrnauer on the life of Valentino, his work and his long time partner and close friend Giancarlo Giammetti. The film had its official presentation earlier in the day at the Venice Film Festival where it is turning out to be one of the hot ticket items of this year's event.
"I was quite honoured to be in Venice because it is a city from films," Valentino said.
Valentino's career underscored a natural talent for knowing what makes women tick and what makes them feel great about themselves.
Stars like Liz Hurley and Eva Herzigova, his die-hard fans as well as close friends were at the event.
Both women were donning Valentino's hand made gowns, and felt the tribute fitting to a dying art of couture.
