Описание: Information: Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad 8419 is a JS (建设, Jiàn Shè) class 2-8-2 “Mikado” type steam locomotive, built in 1988 by the Datong Locomotive Works for use on the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad in Boone, Iowa, mainly for passenger excursion service. Its total weight is 413,000 pounds, with a length of 76 feet, a width of 10 feet, and is 15 feet tall. The adhesive weight is 174,165 pounds, with a coal capacity of 35,000 pounds and a water capacity of 9,200 gallons in the tender. The boiler pressure is 217 psi, with a Walschaerts valve gear system. The locomotive’s tractive effort is 58,800 pounds of force, with a power output of 2,270 horsepower and a maximum speed of 85 miles per hour.

In Popular Culture: Even though this China-built steam locomotive didn’t appear in movies, its original step-top 5 chime steam whistle was recorded sometime in the early 90's, and was used for Vinnie The American Engine from the movie Thomas & Friends: The Great Race.
