Half-Life 2 VR Mod - Episode 2 #1 - Alyx, Antlion Nest, Tunnel Defense

Описание: Time to start Episode 2. I expect this will be just as fine of a VR experience as the others.

The tunnel defense was a little rough with the fast need to switch weapons or reload. I'm glad I could depend a decent amount on the turrets. I forgot that 1 turret can handle 1 light on its own. The two guys can also handle 1 light on their own. 2 lights would require 2 turrets, 1 turret and both guys, the 2 guys and me (which I didn't do, and might have been fun), or 1 turret and me. I can barely handle 1 light with the reloading.

So when the challenge before the vortigaunts arrived had a total of 5 lights, there was more than everything could handle, plus the turrets started breaking. I remember when I played in flatscreen, I would sometimes position a turret off to the side to handle two tunnels in their field of vision (one between tunnels 1 and 2 facing 3, another past 4 facing 3), then I could take 1 myself. That might have worked better until the turrets started breaking.

The best way is to make sure your automatic and shot gun are fully loaded, and you are loaded up with ammo. Spend 3 clips of auto taking the first 3 groups of antlions, and use the shotgun on the rest. I wasn't always loaded up the way I needed to be.

I know there will be an antlion boss that I'll have to evade in the antlion nest. I already hate the acid spitters. But at least their spit is easy to dodge in VR, since it's so easy to gauge their position. And I'm a lot more aware of my surroundings in VR, so I don't strafe into a wall and go nowhere like I do in flatscreen all the time.
