Today's Devotion:
365 Daily Devotions: Bible Character Edition
💁🏻 Moses: Prince of Egypt Who Chose God’s People
Moses was born at a time when God’s people were suffering as slaves in Egypt. Pharaoh was afraid of them, so he ordered that Hebrew baby boys be killed. God protected him and placed him in Pharaoh’s palace. He grew up as a prince of Egypt, with power, comfort, and honor. He could have enjoyed an easy life. But when Moses grew older, he made a hard choice. He chose to stand with God’s suffering people instead of enjoying sin and riches for a short time. Moses believed God’s promises were more valuable than Egypt’s treasures. This story teaches us that faith means choosing God’s way, even when it costs us something.
📖 Bible Readings: Exodus 2:11–15
(Hebrews 11:24–28, Psalm 84:10, Matthew 6:19–21, Philippians 3:7–8)
👨🏻💻 Teachings:
Three things about Moses:
1. Moses' birth foreshadows the coming of Christ.
2. Moses grew up with a strong sense of justice.
3. Moses was unqualified and yet qualified.
💪🏼 Applications:
1. Birth: Live the reason you were born for.
2. Justice: Be a person of fairness and justice.
3. Mission: Present yourself as willing and available.
🎙 Discussion:
Why do you have to be fair and just at all times?
🤿 Dive Deeper:
How is Jesus the greater Moses?
🙏🏼 Prayer:
Father God, thank You for the life of Moses, whose birth pointed forward to Christ and whose calling reminds me that You appoint the unlikely. Teach me to live for the reason You brought me into this world. Form in me a deep love for justice, that I may stand with the oppressed and choose what is right even when it costs me comfort. When I feel unqualified, remind me that Your grace is my qualification. Make me willing and available for Your mission. May my life reflect the greater Moses, Jesus Christ, who perfectly redeemed God's people. In His name, Amen.
