Описание: Waste Vegetable Oil Conversion: Alternative Fuel GreaseCar - How does it Work. In this video I show you how my F250 Ford Diesel truck was converted to run on filtered waste vegetable oil. I used a kit, see link below, and had some help installing it by automotive high school students. Basically in order to run a diesel vehicle on vegetable oil, you need to add an alternative tank, and fuel lines to your engine. You then need the ability to switch over from your stock diesel fuel to vegetable oil, but only when the engine is sufficiently hot, and the vegetable oil has had a chance to heat up as well.

You can get this filtered waste oil fuel hot in several ways. Use waste heat from the engine, by tapping into the coolant lines, then running that hot coolant to your oil tank, as well as over the fuel line (with the vegetable oil). You can for example, run the coolant lines right into the tank, and then use a copper coil in the tank to ensure maximum heat transfer. You can keep the veg oil hot, by running a larger hose over the fuel hose, also called hose-in-hose fuel lines. You'll want to use Pex lines for the fuel line, and make sure of course to not let the coolant get out and mix with the fuel.

Finally, you can use waste heat around the vegetable oil fuel filter, by coiling more copper around the filter, and flattening the coil, so it makes good contact with the fuel filter. I have a temp gauge in the filter, since that is closest to the injection, giving me a good idea how warm the oil is. When it is hot enough, you can switch from diesel to veg. I use an additional electric "Veg-Therm" to boost the temperature, going into the IP. Newer diesels will be more picky than older diesels, so you'll want to research carefully if installing in a newer injection system.
