Built in 1910 by O'Grady-Anderson's of Winnipeg, Manitoba, this massive Gas Traction Company Model B is now the sole survivor of her production run and thought to be the oldest surviving operational Canadian built agricultural tractor in existence. These tractors ruled the prairies for only a short period and by 1920 almost all the western prairie land had been broken for farming use and farms where rapidly transitioning to smaller more agile machines. With their purpose fulfilled, these machines quietly faded into history, with few survivors. The Model B's engine is a massive four cylinder inline displacing 904 cubic inches (14.8 litres) with a 6in bore and a 8in stroke which develops 45 brake horsepower and delivers 25 drawbar horsepower. The transmission offers a single speed in each direction with the radiator cooling fan connected directly to the input shaft, thus, only functioning when the clutch is engaged. This tractor was painstakingly restored to full operation over the course of several years at the Reynolds Alberta Museum, Wetaskiwin, Alberta.
