Reini P.-Schmoelzer, is a drummer, composer, conductor, and teacher for Jazz Composition & Arranging at Gustav Mahler Private University for Music in Klagenfurt, Austria. As a leader, Schmoelzer has released two Jazz Orchestra albums with his band, Reinhold Schmölzer & orchest•ra•conteur: 2012’s “Miraculous Loss of Signal“, and 2016’s “Aerial Image”. His music has been commissioned and performed by Frankfurt Radio HR Bigband, Metropole Orchestra feat. Richard Bona, RTV Bigband Slovenia, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra (Denmark) feat. Lau Højen and Austrian bands like Graz Composers Orchestra, onQ Large Ensemble, KELAG Bigband or Lungau Bigband. As a drummer, Schmoelzer has toured, shared the stage and done studio productions with artists such as David Helbock Trio, Ed Partyka Jazz Orchestra, Julian Argüelles, Aarhus Jazzorchestra feat. Dave Liebman, Jure Pukl, Jakob Karlzon, and Ralph Mothwurf Orchestra among others.
