"Our Miss Brooks" began as a CBS radio series in 1948, starring Eve Arden as Connie Brooks, an English teacher at Madison High School. It eventually became one of the most popular radio series during its run and moved to CBS television in 1952 while continuing to air on radio. There was even a movie based on the characters, but the storyline was adjusted to fit the film and didn't make much sense to the fans of the broadcast "Our Miss Brooks" storyline.

The radio and TV series included a great ensemble cast, including Gale Gordon as Principal Conklin, Robert Rockwell as Biology teacher and the object of Miss Brook's attention, Phillip Boynton, Richard Crenna as student Walter Denton, Gloria McMillan as Harriet Conklin and Walter Denton's girlfriend and more.

"Our Miss Brooks" premiered on CBS on October 3, 1952, and aired through September 21, 1956. During the last season, the setting was changed, and the characters finally graduated from high school. The main characters were shifted to a different school, and the show dropped in popularity.
