Описание: Worth Abbey runs an internship programme for small groups of men to live in proximity to the Community and share in their lives.

What is an internship? An internship is an opportunity for up to five men at a time to live alongside the monastery for two months, following a way of life like that of the monks. During this time, you will learn about the Benedictine tradition and have the opportunity to live in community, to deepen your prayer life and your personal engagement with scripture.

Who can apply? Men aged between eighteen and thirty-five.

How long is an internship? An internship lasts around two-months and we run three a year.

Is there any cost? No. We will provide you with board, lodging, teaching and guidance. In line with monastic way of life, you will be expected to work in the monastery some of the time you are here and therefore contribute towards the welfare of Worth.

What will I get out of an internship? It is hoped that the silence and prayerful atmosphere of the monastery and Abbey Church will help you to deepen your spiritual search and to tune in to God’s loving presence in your life. As St Benedict writes in the Prologue to his Rule: “What, dear brothers, is more delightful than this voice of the Lord calling to us?”
