An active low-pressure area coupled with a trough line has altered the weather mood across Odisha since yesterday. Several districts including Subarnapur district, Koraput district and Bargarh district witnessed hailstorm and heavy rain, causing damage and disrupting normal life.

This afternoon, heavy rain lashed the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Strong winds and thunder led to reports of uprooted trees in parts of the capital.

In Badamba, a Jatra pendal collapsed due to the sudden storm, injuring two persons.
