At a time when humanity has not been as busy before than now, it sadly is the case that many believers do not spare time to seek the Lord in prayer.

1. 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒅, 𝑰 𝒄𝒓𝒚 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒀𝒐𝒖;
𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒆!
𝑮𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒚 𝒗𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒄𝒓𝒚 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒀𝒐𝒖.

2. 𝑳𝒆𝒕 𝒎𝒚 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒆,
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒖𝒑 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆.

Like the Psalmist, believers ought to recognize their desperate need of the Lord and spend therefore, quality time in prayer.
In Genesis 25;21, Isaac cries out to God on behalf of his wife to have a child; Rebekah was barren. Jabez, in 1 Chronicles 4;9-10, cries out to God for enlargement, blessings and protection from a place of brokenness, as he had been born in pain. Paul in Philippians 4;6-7, urges us to let go of anxiety and make all of our request known to God.

𝑩𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒙𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒚 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒔𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒃𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝑮𝒐𝒅;
𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒐𝒅, 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔.

In all the above verses, it is manifest that prayer is the only thing believers can use to effect a change in their lives. Barrenness, reproach, shame and fear are all taken away through prayer. Enlargement, blessings, protection, provision, peace, among other good things, are all found after spending quality time with the Lord.

How about we determine in our hearts that we shall seek the Lord in prayer without ceasing? How about we set our minds to letting God take care of that which we can not control? How about we
recognize our absolute need of the grace of God and give ourselves to prayer?

As you determine to seek the Lord for settlement this year and beyond, may the good Lord grant you grace and strength in Jesus name Amen.
