About the #Sanctuary commitments
The Sanctuary model is comprised of four domains, all of which need to be operating simultaneously in order to practice Sanctuary effectively - each one supports and complements the others in order to influence organisational culture and climate, as well as the care that is delivered.
One of these four key domains is the seven commitments: These commitments are agreements we make as a community to prevent trauma exposure if possible or reduce its impact on individuals and the community as a whole. The seven commitments are: nonviolence, emotional
intelligence, democracy, social learning, growth and change, social responsibility and open communication.
About the Sanctuary #Model
The Sanctuary model is a trauma-informed, whole-culture model that provides a clear and structured approach for creating or changing an organisational culture, where resilience is the goal - be it in a team, family or individual.
Sanctuary enables safe, non-violent environments and relationships that teach people to cope with stress and trauma. It is suitable for organisations that have to deal with the effects of adversity and trauma and results in measurable improved #wellbeing outcomes for organisations and individuals.
