How to Test for Arsenic, mineral ID blowtorch science

Описание: I show how to test to see if your sulphide mineral in you gold ore is Arsenopyrite and the difference between it and Pyrite in a closed tube blowtorch test.

To explain what you see, first tube is Pyrite, the products in the tube are Sulphur and Sulphuric acid, second tube is Arsenopyrite, you can see the metallic/elemental Arsenic condense on the cooler glass just forward of the sample. Longer heating would have resulted in more silver Arsenic and some yellow Sulphur as well but I tend to stop as soon as the black appears to save loosing As into the air.

This is an easy test BUT, please do NOT do this at home, Arsenic is deadly poisonous and this experiment can be dangerous for several reasons.
