Sustainable architecture is a general term that refers to buildings that are designed to limit the negative impacts the building could have on the environment.

Choose non-toxic building materials. Use materials that do not harm the environment.
Use renewable materials such as bamboo, cork, and soy.
Minimise waste and maximise reuse. Use recycled materials.
Limit wasteful energy consumption by using solar energy instead.
Use solar power for electricity, heating and air conditioning.
Cover your roof with plants to keep the building cool in summer and warm in winter
Collect rainwater and use it to water plants.
Reuse greywater.
Draw blinds in both summer and winter to boost windows’ insulating effect.
Turn off all lights when not in use. Open the drapes and use natural light instead.
Reduce water temperature on your water heater.
Wash clothes in cold water.
Dryers use up a lot of electricity. Line-dry your clothes instead.
Collocations are two or more words that often go together. These combinations just sound natural to native English speakers.
