Details how to tell the rise-and-set times for any phase of the moon using the Earth Clock. Detailed summary of this technique:
1. Given the phase of the moon, find the exact location of where the moon would be in its orbit on the Earth-Sun-Moon diagram.
2. On this diagram, draw a straight line from the location of the moon to the nearest point on Earth. This is the location on Earth where an observer would be seeing the moon directly overhead.
3. Now, using the 'Earth Clock' explained in the video, determine what the time of day a person on Earth would be be viewing that moon phase directly overhead. (This is the time that the moon would be at its highest point in the sky for any observer on Earth)
4. Since the moon is above the horizon for 12 hours a day on average, you can assume the moon has been in the sky for 6 hours before it reaches its highest point. So to determine when the that particular lunar moon would be rising, simply subtract 6 hours from the time it is at highest point.
5. Finally, to determine when that phase of moon would be setting, simply add 6 hours to the time it is at its highest point.
