Описание: Frank and Louie the cat, was born with two faces, two mouths, three eyes and a very uncertain future.

Twelve years after Marty Stevens rescued him from being put down because of his condition, the exotic blue-eyed rag doll cat is not only thriving but has made it into the 2012 Guinness Book of World Records.

He's the longest surviving member of a group known as Janus cats, named for the Roman god of transitions - who has two faces.

Stevens says every day is a blessing because such cats usually survive only for a few days.

"He was brought in, at a day-old, to be euthanised and I just offered to take him home and try to save him and they told me not to get my hopes up too much because usually they don't survive. They never survive, actually, and he is 12-years-old, September 8th," she said.

These days, the friendly, laid-back Frank and Louie loves riding in the car and taking walks on a leash, though people who come up to pet him are usually shocked when they get close.

"I see a look of horror come over their faces when they actually see his face, it's funny," Marty Stevens said.
An associate professor at the veterinary school said euthanasia was a common option in cases such as Frank and Louie's because families can't cope with caring for an animal with congenital abnormalities.

"I think this one is a good example that it's worth giving them a shot."
