20 years ago, Koi Water Barn helped make koi history.
At the 2006 All Japan Koi Show, the most prestigious koi exhibition in the world and often described as the World Cup of koi, a Kohaku from Sakai Fish Farm, affectionately known as Yamato, was awarded Grand Champion.
Supplied by Tony Pitham to international koi hobbyists, this achievement re-wrote what was thought possible for non-Japanese dealers and collectors on the world’s biggest stage, and marked a defining moment for the global koi community.
Two decades on, that same spirit continues to drive Koi Water Barn forward.
