[Step 1] "Before You Pick" is about your attitude. You need to prepare yourself for a long journey. You will be slow, and you will suck for a while before you start blazing through the songs you enjoy.

[Step 2] "Find Your Pick" is about the pick you use. A good pick for speed picking should be somewhat rigid and hard, with a sharp enough tip that allows you to accurately hit the strings you want to pick.

[Step 3] "Hold Your Pick" is about holding your pick. There is no single “right” way to hold it. You need to find what feels most natural to you.

[Step 4] "Pick Your Way" is all about defining the way you pick. There is also no single “right” way to pick, so you must find the one approach that works for you on the guitar. However, whatever picking approach you use must achieve the two S's: Sustainability and Stability. This step is also broken into 6 parts:
