On October 31, 2014, Slavoj Žižek and Jean-Pierre Dupuy participated in a public forum on modern religion at Portland State University's Smith Center Student Union ballroom. This interview takes place the following day at the PSU campus, with a small group of scholars associated with the RelSec Project.
The RelSec Project, is an initiative of the Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutes. The project is funded by an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant that supports an international collaboration among universities in the United States, Holland, Israel, and China, and aims to increase dialogue and understanding of the role of religious belief in everyday life.
