The National Breast Cancer Foundation’s story is one that has been 30 years in the making. A story of extraordinary people, discoveries, and steps towards achieving our ambitious and important vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

For 30 years now, we've been inspired by the belief that, together, we can do extraordinary things. It’s this belief that’s driven support for breast cancer research which has created lasting, positive change.


Every day 57 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer, and sadly 9 women die from the disease. Over their lifetime 1 in 7 Australian women and about 1 in 500 men will be diagnosed.

NBCF funds world-class research focussed on better understanding how to prevent and detect breast cancer early, how to stop the progression and recurrence of breast cancer and how to effectively treat hard-to-treat and metastatic breast cancers – research that ultimately save lives.
