Amazing Torrey Pines Beach Before The 2023 Landslide

One of the most popular beaches in Southern California is found not far from San Diego. We recently flew into California and spent some time visiting various California Beaches. They were every bit as gorgeous as advertised.
The video we put together will give you the chance to view the beach first hand. We filmed at the Torrey Pines Nature Preserve. We took footage from up on the cliffs overlooking the beach and then hiked the rest of the way down to the beach for a walk in the surf. The water was a bit on the cold side, but, honestly it felt really nice. The Torrey Pines area is known for it's world famous golf course. If you don't take time though to visit the preserve, you will miss some incredible scenery.
The ocean and beach are absolutely stunning! The trail leading down to the beach was a reasonably easy hike for us. The total distance from parking lot to the surf was less than 1 mile. Most people should be able to make the hike with little difficulty. Bring some binoculars and you will be able to get a great look at La Jolla. During whale season, you can stand on the cliffs above the beach and see whales as they migrate through the area, on their way to feeding grounds further north in Alaska.
