🔥Strides are fast, short duration runs that can serve numerous benefits:
🎯New to running OR returning from an injury? Strides can be a great way to introduce some speed work back into your running
🎯Helps to refine good running technique at speed
🎯By running at faster speeds, slower speeds can “feel” easier.
🎯They can help to hone your finish line kick!
🙋🏼♀️How to do them?
🔑In the middle OR end of an easy run increase your speed to not quite a flat out sprint, but pretty hard
🔑Hold this pace for 10-20 seconds, then drop the pace back to an easy jog for 30-60 seconds.
🔑Repeat 5-10 times (for beginners start with 5 & build from there)
🔑Ensure you maintain good running form throughout
