In this story, a mama goat instructs her babies to stay inside the house and not let anyone in until she returns. Shortly after her departure, various forest animals come to the house, asking the children, Eeno and Meeno, to open the door. The kids refuse each time, adhering to their mother’s warning. However, a sinister monster soon arrives, imitating the mama goat’s voice. Confused, Eeno and Meeno open the door, allowing the monster to enter. The monster then eats both Eeno and Meeno and flees into the forest. When the mama goat returns and discovers the door open and her children missing, she anxiously searches the forest. She eventually encounters the monster under a tree, who admits to having eaten her children. In a fit of rage, the mama goat attacks the monster, tearing open its belly with her horns. She retrieves Eeno from one wound and Meeno from the other. The monster escapes and is never seen again. The mama goat then teaches her children a valuable lesson: failing to listen to parental instructions can lead to serious consequences
