While many will generically write off leasehold properties, contrary to popular belief, leasehold properties are beneficial and suitable for certain buyers and hold a place in the Vancouver real estate market. While it is true that based on the nature of the 'lease' (meaning that you do not own the land) also means that it likely will not appreciate as much as freehold, leaseholds also provide buyers with an opportunity to purchase into potentially prime locations at a discount.
