Our planet—our most precious resource—deserves our utmost respect and protection. The same is true for our children.
Right now, children are being placed in the middle of a political battle, where their innocence is being used in conflicts around identity. A newly introduced bill would penalize parents in custody disputes and other legal settings for deadnaming their child. This raises serious concerns about parental rights, family autonomy, and the mental health of children.
Until a child reaches adulthood, they do not need irreversible medical interventions or surgeries. What they need is support—therapy, stable families, community, creativity, laughter, movement, play, and love.
Children deserve protection, guidance, and compassion. They should not be placed in the middle of adult political wars. Our responsibility is to prioritize mental wellness, healthy development, and safe spaces for children to grow—without fear, punishment, or politicization.
