Описание: Wow, what a special day! On-board ZB300, the final commercial flight of a Monarch Airlines Airbus A300 from London Gatwick (LGW/EGKK) to Birmingham (BHX/EGBB) on Sunday, 13th April 2014. PLEASE READ:

When Monarch announcement a special enthusiast flight from London Gatwick to Birmingham on their last Airbus A300, we jumped at the chance - booking the flight just minutes after being released.

Our plane, G-OJMR, was delivered to Monarch on 03-05-1991 (making it alot older than me!). Even though the plane was 23 years old, the interior was in fantastic condition! Amazing really!

After a detailed look around the plane & boarding, our Captain, Martin Pound (Chief Pilot for Monarch Airlines) gave a detailed talk about the routing of today's special flight. We were given a water salute at Gatwick Airport (first one for me), before heading up to Manchester Airport for a pass over the airport at 1000ft. It was a beautiful day over the UK.

We finally turned back towards the South, before descending and landing at Birmingham Airport at 15:40pm, one hour after departure from London. We was given free champagne, safety cards & a signed document from Captain Martin Pound.

A day I certainly won't forget in a hurry - what a shame it's going to the scrap heap! What a gorgeous old bird!
