The Ministry of Health has closed 1,118 healthcare facilities across the country that has defrauded public funds through the Social Health Authority (SHA) system. This is according to Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, who briefed Members of Parliament at the 2026 Legislative Retreat in Naivasha, Nakuru County. His remarks come after it emerged that 11 billion shillings were siphoned through the SHA systemsBetween October 2024 and April 2025 through fake claims, unprocedural surgeries, ghost patients, and collusion
