Do you use Bank of America, Chase Bank, Wells Fargo, US Bank, Citigroup or any of the big banks for your banking and checking account needs? Using a big bank is probably a bad idea.

You can get a great bank account for FREE with a great interest rate and bonus. All of these banks are FDIC insured or National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) insured.

Here are the best bank accounts:

1. SoFi Bank

SoFi Bank, formerly known as SoFi Money, is the best bank account in my opinion. SoFi Bank has a great 1.80% interest rate and has a sign up bonus with direct deposit initiated of $325. Here is the sign up bonus link: https://bit.ly/3qijjra

SoFi Bank has no account fees, no account minimums, and no overdraft fees.

I have had SoFi Money for years now and it has been a great checking account to have.

SoFi Bank has free ATMs all across the country. The one downside of SoFi Money is that you cannot deposit cash without depositing cash into another bank and transferring to SoFi Bank or depositing into SoFi Bank with Green Dot.

2. Capital One

Capital One has a great checking account. The Capital One checking account is free to use and has no account minimums.

The Capital One checking account even allows you to deposit cash at any Capital One branch, ATM, OR any CVS location. If you go to CVS, Capital One allows you to deposit cash by scanning the barcode on the app and and handing your cash to their register. Pretty great feature for a bank account that is mostly online!

Capital One has an interest rate of 0.10% on its checking account and 1.20% on its savings account. These interest rates are not great, but they beat out Bank of America, Chase, and the other big banks.

3. La Capitol Federal Credit Union

La Capitol Federal Credit Union has a 4.25% interest rate on its checking account, but you must be a member of La Capitol Federal Credit Union and you can only keep up to $3,000 in the account and earn the 4.25% rate.
