Focus on managing your air well through the Slow Arpeggios; these are a fun challenge!
Notes:
You’ll be covering a broad range of skills in this training. As you sing through the slide holds, lean into that effortless feel as you slide your voice up. We recommend moving your hand to mimic the pattern being made with your voice. Ensure you enunciate the “Z” and “G” on the Zing Ah Holds. There’s no need to force anything here with your voice. Focus on a more forward/nasal resonance to give strength to your voice as you go higher, not so much “belting”.
The Ooo Melody is designed to work on your ability to move as smoothly as possible between notes. This may get challenging as you move through your vocal breaks. Release any tension you feel in your neck & throat as you sing, trust your voice can blend seamlessly and move between all the notes. The last exercise in this routine is the Slow Arpeggios. Each round will go at a slower tempo. Save your energy as you go through these and focus on managing your air. See if there are any spots where air is leaking out (aka, breathy tone), and focus on better vocal fold closure to help you manage your air.
