DockDogs® is a premier canine-athletics organization showcasing the excitement, skill, and athleticism of dogs competing in nationally recognized water-sport events. Each DockDogs® competition features three signature disciplines: Big Air, Extreme Vertical, and Speed Retrieve. Big Air puts dogs’ jumping power on display as they leap from the dock in a thrilling long-jump-style challenge. Extreme Vertical measures pure vertical leap as dogs launch skyward to grab a suspended toy. Speed Retrieve combines swimming speed and precision as competitors race down the pool to snatch a floating toy in the fastest time. For the ultimate challenge, canine athletes can compete in the Iron Dog triathlon, which requires completing all three events.
The 2025 DockDogs® World Championship, held this November at the Five Flags Center in Dubuque, Iowa, brought together more than 600 elite canine athletes and 450 handlers from across the globe. Free to spectators, the event delivered an energetic, family-friendly experience—celebrating teamwork, athleticism, and the special bond between dogs and their people.
