Welcome to the first episode of our Glamping Serye — and what better way to kick it off than with a 5-day camping escape to Apalan Woods in Itogon, Benguet!

In this episode, we drove up the scenic Benguet–Nueva Vizcaya Road, set up our Naturehike Village 13 tent by a cliffside overlooking the stunning Binga Lake, and enjoyed the cool mountain breeze away from the scorching heat of Manila.

We brought our three toy poodles along, set up Starlink Mini for uninterrupted internet (yes, we worked from the mountains!), cooked samgyupsal and hot pot under the pine trees, and prepped a hearty Holy Week meal with fried tilapia and Pinakbet — using our trusty Awada Grill pan.

From peaceful mornings with pour-over Benguet Arabica coffee to cold-weather naps with the dogs and cozy bonfire s’mores with the kids, this trip reminded us how beautiful slow living in nature can be.
