BMW maintenance. How to replace the transmission mounts on a BMW Z4 E85 (2003–2008) the easy way — without removing the exhaust or other major components! In this video, I walk through the process I used on my 2004 BMW Z4 automatic to fix a nasty clunking noise under medium to hard acceleration.
Quick DIY method - No exhaust removal required - Works for automatic transmissions
If your Z4 is making banging, clunking, or knocking sounds when accelerating, worn transmission mounts may be the culprit. This fix made my Z4 smoother and more enjoyable to drive.
