Since his spinal stroke in 2023, Jesse’s stature has risen with fellow musicians and the outside world, meaning fans.
He has gained a considerable following since and now has sold out two nights at Islington Assembly Hall which is almost twice the size of Lafayette where he last played here, meaning his fans are 4 times as many as before.
His condition has improved considerably moving from a wheelchair to a walker and during the show would every three or so songs stand up for a song.
From his third album from 2007, “Glitter In The Gutter”, is a concise yet warm hearted song that brings to mind early Springsteen and Petty.
A gregarious and inviting performer who is like an old pal at the bar; London has finally taken Jesse to heart and it is rapturous.
