Hello, my name is William. I am from the UK. I tried to study Japanese by myself. For about 2 years With an app called Anki You might have heard of it but... I used it to study Kanji for about two years. I also thought that watching anime could help me improve my Japanese listening. But after two years, I realized that I still couldn't speak any Japanese. I kept thinking "Well then, how can I study Japanese!?" Fortunately, I had the opportunity to go to Japan after that. For two years, I interacted and spoke with native Japanese people every day. I taught English classes to the Japanese. I also taught "J-Kaiwa" or "Japanese conversation" classes to foreigners There's a lot to learning Japanese. For example, memorizing words. There are kanji in words, so kanji is important. and difficult. And you have to be able to listen and learn. And if you don't have the ability to speak, you can't communicate. With that, you also need to write and read. Otherwise, you can't truly communicate Japanese. (Most communication is over SNS nowadays) So... Across those... Well, including grammar You have to set Japanese goals covering six areas. I haven't gone to school or college, yet I'm able to speak Japanese at this level I know that you can teach yourself how to learn Japanese by yourself Without language goals, you will not learn a language.
