Fixing Broken Map Lights on a Lexus SC430

I thought there was only one thing wrong with the map lights in my wife's SC430 but there were two. The bulb-mounts were falling apart so I wanted to just hard-wire in some LED strips but then I found that opening the doors wouldn't turn on the lights. That turned out to be the switch in the map light assembly. Both were easy fixes.
Since I had 12V LED strips already, this was a 0-cost fix; just some time.
I happen to have the SC430 factory service manual and I include screenshots of the useful pages. However, I'm noticing that there are sites up now that offer PDFs of some manuals. The SC430 is a bit rare so it probably isn't as available as others.
