This red rainbow, Glossolepis incisus, was waisting away and was dying! Our microscopic examination reveals a mix of infections: gill flukes, internal worms (Nematodes) and (secondary?) bacterial infection.
The very skinny fish are to weak to accept a treatment; better to put asleep (Narcomor-Plus from Aquarium Münster)
Try treatment with Praziquantel: this can kill the external flukes and internal Nematodes; (details in my books);
Try to combine with an anti-bacterial medication = ask your shop or your fish doctor;
