Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has officially written a strong letter to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) begging them to reconsider the boycott of the India vs Pakistan match scheduled for February 15, 2026 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo during the T20 World Cup 2026.

In the letter, SLC highlights:

Massive financial losses already suffered from cancellations
Thousands of hotel bookings cancelled across Colombo
Severe impact on tourism, local economy & hospitality industry
All stadium & logistical arrangements already completed
Sri Lanka’s past support for Pakistan cricket during difficult times (when other countries refused to tour Pakistan)
Appeal for reciprocity and sportsmanship
This comes after Pakistan’s government announced they will not take the field against India, while still participating in the rest of the tournament. The boycott is creating panic in Sri Lanka as the India-Pakistan match is one of the biggest revenue and tourism generators for the host nation.
