Final one from my 2022 Texas trip! This was definitely one of the coolest experiences I’ve had. I was running very late to this test and reached out to the city of Hughes Springs to express that I had traveled from out of state to record these and asked them if they could hold the test for about 10-15 minutes (cause the city TOTALLY runs on my time haha) not expecting any response let alone them actually doing it. It was strange to see a message from a city official saying “let us know when you get here”. I arrived at 7:07 at one of the prettiest places I’d been to (water tower surrounded by pine trees up a hill) and they set them off 7 minutes late so I was able to record them. The echos in person were to die for! I also heard about 3 months later that the city was hit by a devastating tornado and sincerely hope everyone involved made it out safely.
Hughes Springs tests their system of 20V2Ts on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM. This unit is located at Pratt & Victory near the water tower behind the High School.
