The Honda Civic Type‑R (current FL5 generation) is assembled at Honda’s Yorii Automobile Plant in Saitama, Japan, alongside other Civic models for the Japanese market.

Yorii is a modern Honda facility with an annual capacity of around 250,000 vehicles, but Type‑R makes up only a small fraction of that total.

The Type‑R’s engine is built in Ohio (USA) and the manual transmission in Suzuka (Japan); these are then brought to Yorii (via the Ogawa plant for powertrain assembly) where the car is fully built.

Special assembly steps—more welding, manual installation of suspension and bumpers, and rigorous quality checks—help ensure the Type‑R’s high performance and build quality.
