Liaoning Province Vlog: Red Seabeach & Panjin!

The reason we traveled to Liaoning Province is to see the beautiful, unique Red Seabeach! We arrived in Shenyang, the province's capital, on Sept. 20th and headed straight to the bus station at the SK Tower (about a 10 minute walk from Shenyang Station) to buy our bus tickets to Panjin for the 21st. The bus ride took 2 1/2 hours.

Although we read online that Red Seabeach is accessible by public transport, we took a taxi because we were pressed for time. The ride cost 95 RMB on the meter and took approximately 45 minutes.

Admissions to Red Seabeach cost 85 RMB per person. The park runs along a straight, flat stretch of road that we were told is 18 km in length. Most tourists had their own cars or were part of group tours. For those who don't have their own means of transportation, like us, the options are: walking, biking, and taxis. We walked and took taxis. Beware that there is a shortage of taxis in the park, so drivers charge exorbitant fees and also lie about distances between sites to convince tourists to take taxis. On days when the weather is less than ideal, we imagine that there are few if any taxis at all.

There are at least five viewing points in the park and maybe more. We visited three. They were all beautiful! At the second site - we think it's called "Legends of the Fall" - we highly recommend paying the 10 RMB/person extra to take the bus to the quieter site on the water.

We stayed one night at the Holiday Inn in Panjin.
