“To the Living” was written as a reply track to another original song of mine; “25 Decibels”. One is singing from life toward those in death, and another from death toward those in life, or it can also be interpreted in other ways too, the song’s yours to enjoy.

Unlike “25 Decibels”, this was not written from my past experience alone. It’s more like a compiled bits and pieces of grief, love, good will, and so many other unexplainable feelings I’ve picked up from different places and people close to me all throughout my life, some are simply what I wish I could tell them in their darkest time. All of them, pieced together to create this little song overflowed with emotions that I just can’t help but cry while writing it even if it's not just my own story. Grief is never an easy thing to tap into, let alone channel, but somehow the lyrics of this song just flowed out so effortlessly. I just feel like — if there’s one thing they’d wanna say, it would be this.

Honestly, this is one of the times I truly had a hard time singing even though everything is within my range, with my voice hoarse and cracking a lot every time I tried to record it and almost everything surrounding this production constantly running into some ridiculous problems. My mixer’s programs ran into unusual issues multiple times with things suddenly disappearing, crashing, or readjusting on its own, my guitar also fell from its stand before I try to re-record the song instrumental and now the fret needed to play this song doesn’t work, just that one, the rest is fine — so I was somehow forced to settle with the latest recording that I had. Even so, I'm happy with the result! That aside, thank you for your patience, I've really been taking my time with this project and just go with the flow when it comes to my contents. Thank you for being here and taking your time to listen to this little song of mine ❤️

This is one of the personal projects I hold close to my heart and it has indeed been one hell of a journey trying to bring this song to life. I know this song might sound a bit sad but I hope you can also feel just how much love it also carries, an overwhelming amount to the point that it almost hurts. Take them with you too.

This is a message to the living, it’s so beautiful yet so heartbreaking.
