Forrester “Woody” Lee ’68 delivered this fascinating presentation to Dartmouth alumni and students at the Museum of African American History in Boston on September 26, 2015. Between 1775 and 1950, 133 black men attended Dartmouth. “The collective legacy of Dartmouth’s early black men is deep, and foundational,” said Lee. “They came to Dartmouth from foreign shores, rural byways, and crowed urban streets to inscribe their marks on this institution of the Granite State.”
The Dartmouth on Location event was supported by the Office of Alumni Relations, the Black Alumni of Dartmouth Association, and the Dartmouth Club of Greater Boston.
